Note:   A total of 60 children live at one facility. There are several such facilities in Ahmedabad, supported by the Trirashmi Buddha Vihar Charitable Trust.

दान के लिए विनम्र अपील

सम्राट अशोक महान के काल में गुजरात प्रदेश “अपरांतक” के नाम से प्रसिद्ध था। सम्राट अशोक के धम्म प्रचार के परिणामस्वरूप गुजरात बुद्धधम्ममय भूमि बन गया था। पुरातात्त्विक साक्ष्य प्रमाणित करते हैं कि सातवीं शताब्दी तक गुजरात में बुद्ध धम्म का व्य<ापक प्रभाव विद्यमान था।

कालांतर में प्रतिक्रांति के कारण गुजरात से बुद्ध धम्म धीरे-धीरे विलुप्त होता गया तथा अनेक बौद्ध स्तूप, विहार और विश्वविख्यात वल्लभी विश्वविद्यालय नष्ट कर दिए गए। तथापि आज भी सौराष्ट्र क्षेत्र में सैकड़ों बौद्ध गुफाएँ एवं अवशेष विद्यमान हैं और जुनागढ़ में सम्राट अशोक का विश्वप्रसिद्ध शिलालेख आज भी बुद्ध धम्म की गौरवगाथा का साक्षी है।

वर्तमान समय में गुजरात में बड़ी संख्या में बौद्ध समुदाय निवास करता है। बौद्ध उपासकों एवं उपासिकाओं के लिए पूजा, साधना और ध्यान के पवित्र केंद्रों की आवश्यकता को ध्यान में रखते हुए “त्रिरश्मि बुद्ध विहार चेरिटेबल ट्रस्ट (पंजीकृत)” द्वारा सुरेन्द्रनगर में एक भव्य बौद्ध केंद्र के निर्माण का शुभ कार्य प्रारंभ किया जा रहा है।

इस पुण्य कार्य हेतु श्रद्धालु बौद्ध उपासकों द्वारा भूमि दान स्वरूप प्रदान की गई है। अब इस दान प्राप्त भूमि पर बौद्ध केंद्र निर्माण के लिए लगभग ₹65 लाख की आवश्यकता है। यह केंद्र केवल समाज के सामूहिक दान, सहयोग और श्रद्धा से ही निर्मित हो सकेगा।

अतः समस्त बौद्ध उपासक एवं उपासिकाओं से करबद्ध विनम्र अपील है कि वे मुक्त हस्त से दान देकर इस महान धम्मकार्य में सहभागी बनें तथा पुण्य अर्जित करें।
